CyberSafe: Utilizing Outside Resources

Cyberattacks are on the rise and the number one targets are small businesses and start-ups. Small businesses are a prime target for cyber-attacks due to the lack of basic security protocols and the belief that they do not store valuable data. According to a recent SBA survey, 88% of small-business owners felt their business was vulnerable to a cyber-attack, and the average cost of data breaches for small businesses is climbing, from $2.35 million in 2020 to $2.98 million in 2021, according to IBM’s 2021 Cost of a Data Breach Report.

The Orange County Inland Empire SBDC Network is pleased to bring you this 4-part series throughout the month of October, for businesses to gain the education to protect themselves from a costly cyberattack on their business. The Cyber Security for your business program will cover topics that include: identifying what cyber-attacks are, how to prevent them, building a cyber-security plan, and what to do if my business is compromised.
