Small Business Administration (SBA) Procurement Series

This three-part series will be instructed by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and will discuss the requirements, application process and how to become SBA 8(a), SBA Women-Owned Small Business, and/or SBA HUBZone Certified.

Wednesday, August 11 | SBA 8(a) Application

To help provide a level playing field for small businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged people or entities, the government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses that participate in the 8(a) Business Development program.

Wednesday, August 18 | SBA Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contracting Program

The federal government’s goal is to award at least 5% of all federal contracting dollars to women-owned small businesses each year! The WOSB has incurred changes to its regulations that will make it easier for qualified small businesses to participate in the WOSB Federal Contracting Program.

Wednesday, August 25 | SBA Hubzone

The HUBZone program fuels small business growth in historically underutilized business zones with a goal of awarding at least 3% of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified companies each year.
