Buzzbox Premium Cocktails Unveils Its Newest Manufacturing Facilities in Indio

Rod Vandenbos started with an idea. After being assigned to bring cocktails to a BBQ, he took a long look at all the ingredients he was brought with him and wondered if there was an easier way to create and consume cocktails. And then it dawned on him – why wasn’t there a product on the market selling ready-to-go cocktails? With the single goal of revolutionizing the way people drink cocktails, he put a team together to create Buzzbox.

During its early stages, Rod reached out to the Coachella Valley SBDC for assistance in obtaining startup funding, eventually being able to secure investments to begin growing his business. Over the course of 5 years, Buzzbox then began expanding rapidly, enough that Rod needed to find a larger location to have all his operations under one roof. As an Indio native, it was important for Rod to give back to his community by keeping his business and staff local. In 2020, Buzzbox moved to an old repurposed Target building large enough and well-suited for their operations and growth. With the assistance of the SBDC, Buzzbox hired new employees and was connected to local Indio businesses to distribute their products including Goldenvoice as well as local supermarkets and liquor stores.

On June 15, 2022, Buzzbox officially opened its doors to its newest manufacturing facility in Indio. Along with keeping its business local, Buzzbox prides itself on being sustainable. Their newest 65,000 square foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility features a zero-waste product system, resulting in saving hundreds of thousands of gallons of water along with their LED lights, which has lowered their emissions to 80%. Their BPA-free, aseptic cartons are recyclable and lightweight enough to transport while shipping to their retailers, using less energy and resulting in a smaller carbon footprint.

Buzzbox also unveiled its newest partnerships as the official cocktail of the newly built Acrisure Area and the Coachella Valley Firebirds ice hockey team. Thank you to the City of Indio Mayor Waymond Fermon, Senator Melissa Martinez, Councilmember Oscar Ortiz, and Emily Falappino of the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce for joining us at the grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Chill, shake, and sip on buzzbox’s 10 different cocktail flavors on their website or at a local retailer!
