COURTNEY BROWN | SENIOR MANGER AT WINDES

Courtney joined Windes in 2010 and is a senior manager in the firms Tax and Accounting Services department. She focuses on tax planning and consulting for large, mid-sized, and small businesses, as well as tax compliance for corporations and partnerships. Courtney serves a wide variety of clients in the real estate, professional services, and high-net-worth individual clients Courtney earned her Masters in Accounting with an emphasis on Taxation from San Diego State University.

MOHAMMED ELAYAN | ASSOCIATE AT RUTAN AND TUCKER

Mohammed Elayan works with individuals and companies on a variety of transactions, across multiple industries, including software, healthcare, manufacturing, technology, and retail. He advises on mergers & acquisitions, financings, commercial and licensing agreements, corporate governance, and entity structuring. Prior to attending law school, Mohammed obtained a graduate degree in applied statistics and industrial engineering from the University of Michigan and worked in data analysis and market research in the consumer-packaged goods industry. The related services Mohammed serves are corporate and tax, securities, and mergers and acquisitions. His related industries include private equity, food and beverage, nutritional supplements, and life sciences and healthcare.

BARDIA MOAYEDI | ASSOCIATE AT TROUTMAN SANDERS

Bardia has significant experience representing companies and financial firms in a broad range of general corporate governance and transactional matters, including venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, debt offerings, spin-offs/divestitures, joint ventures, IPOs, follow-on offerings, and tender offers. He is a trusted advisor and partner, often serving as outside general counsel or lead counsel to his clients. Before joining the firm, Bardia was an attorney at well-known Silicon Valley and Boston-based international law firms. During law school, he worked at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., as part of the summer honors program. He was also an executive editor of California Business Practice. Prior to attending law school, Bardia worked at a prominent investment bank, where he focused on hedge funds and private equity funds. As an undergraduate, he played ice and roller hockey at UCLA.

Serge Jonnaert brings Corum's disciplined Tech M&A process to California’s technology companies, along with over 30 years of executive experience. Like all Corum dealmakers, Serge has founded, run and sold his own technology companies, and is available for confidential conversations with founders, owners and other key executives of technology companies at all stages. Serge joined Corum after 30 years of strategy, product, and service accomplishments from ideation to global success. He is a technology entrepreneur and trusted advisor with experience in enterprise, cloud, big data, AI, interoperability, and IoT solutions for consumer, healthcare, and industrial markets. He has a successful track record of facilitating and closing global distribution, partnership, consortium, government, and M&A deals, in the US and abroad. Serge sits on several boards including as President for the IVD Industry Connectivity Consortium, Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE), as well as a member of the SHIELD Clinical IVD workgroup, which includes representation by the FDA, CDC, NIH, ONC, CMS, and other industry groups. He is also a judge on the annual Edison Award™, honoring excellence in innovation.

Mike Daniel is the network director of the Orange County Inland Empire SBDC Network, which assists aspiring entrepreneurs and current business owners throughout Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Mike was formerly the director of the SBDC office at Long Beach City College. As business owner and entrepreneur himself, he started his career as the owner of a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory location in Manhattan Beach and went on to open a second location in Long Beach in 2001. In 2007, Mike sold the Manhattan Beach store for an above-market offer then invested in several additional locations as a minority shareholder. Mike further expanded his candy empire with venture located in Shoreline Village in Long Beach called Sugar Daddies Sweet Shoppe, based on fill-it yourself candy options.

Mike has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton.
