Angel Investment

We help build the company investor presentation and ensure the company has all the components necessary for their investor pitch.

In most instances, you only get one chance to impress an Angel Investor and you have to make sure you’re ready. Our SBDCtech consultants provide you with a roadmap towards building the necessary traction prior to preparing an investor pitch, through proof of concept and customer feedback. Once we have completed that, we then help you prepare a compelling investor presentation, designed to get investor interest. During the preparation, we spend time helping you with your delivery of the presentation and ensure that you are ready for the Q&A.

We provide you with an opportunity to conduct a pitch review with all of our consultants prior to presenting to an investor group. During this, we will provide feedback and make adjustments to the presentation based on that.

If you receive funding, we provide you with business development strategies and a road map to profitability. If you don’t receive funding, we provide you with our network of other funding options to pursue and help you fine-tune your deck.

Checklist to Pitching to an Angel Investor

Venture Capital Funding

We focus on amplifying the capital funding strategy for tech and med-tech startups that have their management team and business plan in place. Venture capital funds are pooled investment funds that manage the money of investors who seek private equity stakes in startups and small businesses with strong growth potential.

The first step is a strengthened capital funding strategy to improve the company investor presentation and ensure the company has all the components necessary for its next round of investment capital. They also receive actionable feedback from experts in everything from bringing a product to market, to creating a strong foundational process.

One of the most valuable offerings is our predictive analytics, which provides detailed quantitative analytics into a company’s future success.

SBIR/STTR

The SBIR and STTR programs fund a diverse portfolio of startups and small businesses across technology areas and markets to stimulate technological innovation, meet Federal research and development (R&D) needs, and increase commercialization to transition R&D into impact.

Both programs are open only to US-based small businesses. Applications are reviewed for technical merit, innovation, approach, the team, where the work will be done, the proposed deliverables, applicability to the Agency funding the development, and the technology’s commercialization potential.

Three phase process

  • Phase 1: Proof of Concept | 6-12 Months | ~$225K
  • Phase 2: Full R&D | 24 Months | ~$1M
  • Phase 3: Commercialization | Non-SBIR/STTR Funds (Public, Private, or Gov't funding)
