CSUF SBDC Small Business Clinic In Partnership with the City of Brea and the Brea Chamber of Commerce

On September 21, 2021, the California State University Fullerton Small Business Development Center (CSUF SBDC) hosted a small business clinic program offered in collaboration with the City of Brea and the Brea Chamber of Commerce at the Brea Civic Center located at One Civic Center, Brea, CA. “The goal of the SBDC Small Business Clinic is to be able to assist business owners on the spot with understanding their needs and being able to deliver opportunities to help them successfully navigate the current business environment,” said Mike Daniel, Regional Director, Orange County Inland Empire SBDC Network.

Over 20 business owners attended the four-hour event. Participants were matched with a CSUF SBDC consultant for a 30-minute speed coaching session to answer their urgent and immediate needs pertaining to marketing, operations, or financial assessment. “During the clinic, our CSUF SBDC consultants worked closely with their assigned business owners answering their questions to solve problems and allow them to resume business and focus on their growth plan,” stated Manal Richa, Director, CSUF SBDC.

The event featured multiple business resources from the City of Brea and the Brea Chamber of Commerce. “The partnership with the CSUF SBDC and the Brea Chamber of Commerce has been one of great success for our local businesses.  For any new member to the Chamber, I always strongly encourage them to connect with the SBDC.  It is time well spent!” said Heidi Gallegos, President, and CEO of the Brea Chamber of Commerce.

As the event concluded, business owners were scheduled for follow-up meetings with their consultants so they will be able to further discuss their current and future needs as they work on their business operations, marketing plans, and financial needs. Follow-up meetings with their CSUF consultants will provide a path to not only resume the discussion but also to constantly measure progress towards growing and expanding the business. The CSUF SBDC will be holding upcoming Small Business Clinics within the region to help business owners survive and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
