As you know, it is our mission to provide opportunities for small businesses to succeed and grow! This Saturday and throughout the week we celebrate small businesses and also SBDC successes in Orange County and the Inland Empire. Each day, we are featuring small business owners who began their journey with the OCIE SBDC or encountered us along their way. Day 1

Robbins Nest Wine Bar -Vincent Canino, Santa Ana

This wine bar is a beautiful place to celebrate special occasions. It is in the heart of downtown Santa Ana where the night life is vibrant till dawn! Robbins Nest is a place full of laughter, excitement, and community. Join them in the evening for delicious pizza with your wine of choice!

SteelCraft – Kim Gros, Long Beach

SteelCraft is unique eatery produced from repurposed shipping containers. It is place of gathering for everyone who wishes to enjoy good food, local music, and socialize! Dine with them for an afternoon of cool vibes and family fun!

Day 2

Artisan’s Palate – Pia Maffei, Temecula

Shop at Artisan’s Palate for healthy meals with a gourmet twist. Their products have been featured on Oprah and the Food Network. Come by for quality food from passionate artisans!

Hanger 24 Craft Brewery – Ben Cook, Redlands

Enjoy a cool crafted beer at Hanger 24, where you can enjoy specialty seasonal beers such as Redlands Red Ale, Oktoberfest Fall Lager, and Chocolate Bomber.

Day 3

I Like Pie Bakeshop – Annika and Robin Corbin, Claremont

Indulge in some sweet baked goods such as the Chocolate Chip Chess, mini pies, and Apple Cinnamon for the holiday season. Tip: add a scoop of Dr. Bob’s ice cream to your pie of choice for some extra sweetness!

For Every Home Candle Company – Becky and Paul Anderson and Scott Lunceford, Indio

Light candles for any occasion with For Every Home candles. They carry fragrances such as Peppermint Bark, Aroma Therapy, and Itsy Bitsy. All candles are made of soy wax product.

Day 4

Santa Maria Style Oak Pit BBQ – Meagan Levins, Santa Maria

Celebrate the weekend with Santa Maria Style barbecued chicken and steaks. Their meats are slow roasted above red oak with traditional dry rub seasoning. Santa Maria Style Oak Pit BBQ only serves high quality meats and homemade sides!

SMALL BIZ SATURDAY

Mike Daniel is the network director of the Orange County Inland Empire SBDC Network, which assists aspiring entrepreneurs and current business owners throughout Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Mike was formerly the director of the SBDC office at Long Beach City College. As business owner and entrepreneur himself, he started his career as the owner of a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory location in Manhattan Beach and went on to open a second location in Long Beach in 2001. In 2007, Mike sold the Manhattan Beach store for an above-market offer then invested in several additional locations as a minority shareholder. Mike further expanded his candy empire with venture located in Shoreline Village in Long Beach called Sugar Daddies Sweet Shoppe, based on fill-it yourself candy options.

Mike has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton.
