What Customers Actually Want..

In light of the challenges that businesses face in this economy many focus on what they perceive their customers need and not on what they want.  I may want to have the bathrooms in our house remodeled, but I don’t need to have them done because they both “function” just fine.  So we’ll keep the 1970’s tile counter tops and fixtures for now.  But I recently read an interesting blog whose title “5 Things Customers Actually Want” caught my attention.  The author succinctly spelled out 5 basis things we want . . . ease, physical comfort, mental stimulations, identify reinforcement and social acknowledgement and then went on to say that “focusing more on what people want and less on what they need is about giving your customers what they’re actually interested in. And you need (and want) to do that before they’ll part with their time and money.”  To sit down with Louisa Miller, IESBDC Business Consultant, to talk about your marketing strategies, contact the Victorville Office at 760-951-1592 today to schedule an appointment.
