We will be discussing the Economic Injury Disaster Loan, Payroll Protection Program, Disaster Bridge Loan, 7a Forgiveness Program, and other funding opportunities for your business.

Information is changing and updating daily and we want to make sure Small Business owners are being provided the most up to date factual information as to what is available for funding.

California Shop Small Launch

The OCIE SBDC has made it easier to support small and local businesses with California Shop Small, an e-commerce platform sharing locally made products and services throughout California. Choose to shop small this holiday – all while supporting local California businesses.

Norco Grant Program Application opens

The City of Norco is offering financial assistance to small businesses and non-profit organizations through its American Rescue Plan grant program. The program provides a $5,000 grant to eligible small businesses and non-profit organizations recovering from the negative economic impact of the COVID-19.

The application will be open from Tuesday, November 2 until funds are exhausted.

SBA EIDL Loan Application opens

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital to small businesses in Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Los Angeles counties economically impacted by the pipeline oil spill that began on October 2, 2021.

Highland Grant Application opens

The City of Highland has created the Coronavirus Recovery Fund Grant Program is to provide financial assistance to City-based small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Successful grant recipients will receive a one-time $7500 disbursement for approved business-related needs.

The application will be open from Friday, August 24 until funds are exhausted.

Mission Viejo Grant Application Opens

The City of Mission Viejo has announced its CDBG Business Relief Grant which will provide financial assistance to their small businesses. Grants of up to $10,000 may be awarded to eligible businesses, and grants of up to $2,500 may be awarded to home-based eligible businesses.

The application will be open from Tuesday, January 26 until funds are exhausted.

Perris Loan Application Opens

The City of Perris has announced round 2 of their Small Business Assistance Program, which offers up to $10,000 loans to qualifying businesses. Businesses who have received SBA CARES Act or City of Perris Small Business Assistance Program funds can now apply or re-apply.

The application will be open from Monday, December 21, 2020 until funds are exhausted.

Stanton Grant Application Opens

The City of Stanton is providing business assistance to address the adverse repercussion of the novel coronavirus to the economy and to jobs. The City’s Small Business Assistance Program will provide grants of $7,500 for the payment of commercial rent and/or commercial utilities to qualified Stanton small businesses experiencing financial hardship as a direct result of COVID-19.

The application will be open from Tuesday, December 8, 2020 until funds are exhausted.

California Rebuilding Fund

The California Rebuilding Fund is a loan program to support California’s small businesses—especially those located in economically disadvantaged and historically under-banked areas of the state. Businesses that employed 50 or less full-time equivalent employees and had gross revenues of less than $5 million in 2019 are eligible to apply.

The application will be open from Friday, November 20, 2020 until funds are exhausted.

Rialto Grant Application opens

The City of Rialto has created the Rialto Storefront Grant which will offer $4,000 for qualified small businesses with at least one and no more than 25 full-time employees that have been deemed non-essential.

The application will be open from Sunday, November 1, 2020 until funds are exhausted.

Chino Microenterprise Grant Application opens

The City of Chino has announced the Microenterprise Business Grant Program to provide grants for low to moderate-income businesses. Eligible businesses can receive up to $10,000, or up to 3 months of rental/lease payment assistance, to ease the financial hardship due to a loss or reduction in revenue directly related to COVID-19.  

The application will be open from Tuesday, October 20, 2020 until funds are exhausted.

IBank

IBank’s Disaster Relief Loan Guarantee Program is currently available to small businesses needing assistance to overcome economic injury caused by COVID-19. Financial Development Corporation (FDC) partners throughout the State are assisting businesses in securing a 95% guarantee on bank loans of up to $1 million. Current rates are prime + 1% for up to 7 years. 

The application will be open from Tuesday, October 20, 2020 until funds are exhausted.

Riverside Microenterprises Grant Application Opens

The City of Riverside invites all interested and eligible microenterprises, small businesses with five or fewer employees, based in the City of Riverside to apply for CARES Act CDBG-CV funding to assist in the preparation, prevention, and response to coronavirus.

The application will be open from Wednesday, July 8, 2020 until funds are exhausted.

OCIE Business Updates Timeline

Mike Daniel is the network director of the Orange County Inland Empire SBDC Network, which assists aspiring entrepreneurs and current business owners throughout Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Mike was formerly the director of the SBDC office at Long Beach City College. As business owner and entrepreneur himself, he started his career as the owner of a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory location in Manhattan Beach and went on to open a second location in Long Beach in 2001. In 2007, Mike sold the Manhattan Beach store for an above-market offer then invested in several additional locations as a minority shareholder. Mike further expanded his candy empire with venture located in Shoreline Village in Long Beach called Sugar Daddies Sweet Shoppe, based on fill-it yourself candy options.

Mike has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton.
